Founded in October 1994, UBI Products began by supplying architectural millwork to custom builders in Central Texas. Just four months after opening, UBI was awarded a contract to supply materials to one of the most demanding clients in the world—the United States Government.

During the mid-1990s, military downsizing and base consolidations created widespread demand for the refurbishment of housing and support facilities across Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force installations. These projects required exceptional service, highly technical machining, and strict compliance with detailed material specifications—requirements that aligned perfectly with UBI’s capabilities. 

 UBI Products quickly earned a reputation for reliability by delivering large quantities of precisely machined materials, meeting exacting quality standards, and maintaining on-time performance. This combination made UBI a trusted partner for government contractors managing complex, high-volume projects.

In 1995, an independent agent partnered with UBI Products to manufacture and ship interior and exterior door units for large multifamily developments nationwide. As government remodeling work tapered off and demand from large multifamily builders and developers increased, UBI Products transitioned its focus exclusively to the multifamily construction market.

 The growth of adaptive reuse—transforming historic and underutilized structures into residential communities—introduced UBI Products to a new and highly specialized segment of multifamily construction.

In downtown Dallas alone, numerous historic buildings ranging from 30 to 50 stories have been revitalized with UBI Products playing a key role in their redevelopment. These projects require flexibility, precision, and a deep understanding of complex scopes—all hallmarks of UBI’s approach.
